Time Inc brands search for Britain’s best bike shop

Time Inc brands Cycling Weekly and MBR have announced a new UK-wide poll to discover what they their readers consider to be the best bike shops in Britain.

The poll, which was organized in partnership with Lezyne, Muc-Off and BikeZaar, will go live on both the Cycling Weekly and MBR sites on June 28th.

MBR editor Danny Milner commented: “No one opens a mountain bike shop to get rich. They do it because they have a deep passion for riding in the dirt. As such, many tend to have great trails on their doorstep, an in-depth knowledge of the best local singletrack and a willingness to share it.

“Many of them are involved in developing mountain biking at a grassroots level – running trail-building days, leading guided rides and even organising events. A good bike shop is often both the beating heart and the backbone of a good riding scene. With our Britain’s Best Bike Shop campaign, we want to recognise and celebrate that fact, and reward those that go the extra mile for their customers and the wider riding community.”

“Britain’s Best Bike Shops is a really important campaign for Time Inc. and one I am extremely proud to be involved with. Every meeting I go to there is always a conversation on how IBDs are facing challenging times. With the heritage of Cycling Weekly I thought it was important for us to help support the industry and help drive footfall into local shops, this is where the idea first came,” added Cyclign Weekly and MBR head of market Sean Igoe.

The list of included shops will be announced in September.
