It is also the number one Kindle book on, with Motormouth by Jeremy Clarkson in ninth position.

Roads Were Not Built For Cars is subtitled "How cyclists were the first to push for Good Roads and became the pioneers of motoring."

The iPad version of the book has previously been the number one history book on iTunes. Print copies of the book sold out within days of publication. The second edition will be published by Island Press of Washington, D.C.
