Jess Varnish, Jody Cundy and Jason Kenny take part in retail launch in Manchester

adidas launches 2013/14 British Cycling kit

The new look replica team kit from adidas and British Cycling was officially launched on Saturday at adidas’ Market Street store in Manchester.

Three time Olympic champion Jason Kenny, GB Cycling Team Olympian Jess Varnish and multiple Paralympic gold medallist Jody Cundy all attended the launch in store, meeting fans and helping staff behind the till.

The adidas Britich Cycling replica range jersey sports a quarter length zip and slightly more relaxed fit, pitching it as ideal for sportives, commuting and supporting the British Cycling team.

Adidas said: "We recognise the growing popularity of cycling in the UK, a trend that has gone hand in hand with the continuing success of the British Cycling team and as a result [we] have designed a replica shirt to allow fans to show their support for the team on both the road and the track."

Jess Varnish said: "It was great to be in-store on Saturday and meet cycling fans. There is a real buzz about the new kit – it’s really comfortable and wearing it makes me feel really proud to be part of the team.”

The adidas/British Cycling partnership has so far spanned seven years.
