Future Publishing's acquisition by Immediate Media has been referred to the Government's competition authority, BikeBiz learns.

Acquisition of Future referred to Competition & Markets Authority

BikeBiz has learned that the Competition and Markets Authority is considering the merger of Future and Immediate Media under the merger control provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002. The CMA has to decide whether the merger should be referred for a "phase two" investigation.

UPDATE: Immediate Media has contact BikeBiz to clarify that it referred the acquisiton to the Competition and Markets Authority as a matter of course when the deal was completed, as standard practice. The CMA’s review has just begun.
