Chris King Precision Components has partnered with newly formed Tempo Industries Ltd to handle UK sales and distribution, alongside in-house servicing and specialist wheel building.
Based just outside Bath, Tempo is led by Ashley Matthews and Charles Coleman, who previously worked with the brand at its former UK distributor, Saddleback Ltd. Their experience spans brand management, technical service, support and wheel building, with a working relationship with Chris King stretching back more than 15 years.
Tempo will offer servicing for Chris King hubs, headsets and bottom brackets, as well as specialist wheel building. The business says its initial focus will be solely on Chris King, with retailer support and customer aftercare central to its plans.
In a joint statement, Matthews and Coleman said: “We’re excited to announce our new business and new partnership with Chris King, especially in the year they celebrate their 50th anniversary. We’re huge advocates and fans of the product, so this is a dream opportunity for us.”
The pair said they intend to build on existing industry relationships and establish new ones to increase the brand’s UK presence, giving it more dedicated time and focus. They also thanked the Chris King team for its support.
Kirby Bedsaul, president/general manager at Chris King, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be working with Ash and Charles once again. They bring a deep understanding of both Chris King products and the culture that has guided our company for the last 50 years.”
Bedsaul said the partnership reflected the manufacturer’s emphasis on quality, service and lasting relationships within cycling, adding: “Ash and Charles embody those values, and we are confident that Tempo Industries will be an outstanding partner for retailers and riders throughout the UK.”
On the new operation’s scale, Matthews and Coleman said: “While our setup is much smaller than the previous distributor, our focus is solely on supporting Chris King products as we start this new journey, so we’ll be dedicating our time to ensuring people get the service they require.”
Tempo is beginning to bring in service stock for existing customers and hopes to receive larger stock deliveries from December 2026 onwards. Retailers with urgent product requirements are being invited to contact the company directly.
In its announcement, Tempo said it would begin contacting retail partners over the following weeks, with shop visits planned for both existing contacts and new introductions.
