Selle Italia expands its SLR range with the new SLR Gravel, a saddle developed to meet the demands of off-road cycling, from long gravel rides to adventures on more technical terrain.
Launched last year in its fourth generation, the SLR successfully evolved without losing its identity, reaffirming its status as a benchmark for thousands of cyclists around the world.
With the new SLR Gravel, Selle Italia brings the DNA of the SLR to the world of off-road adventure, developing a saddle designed to deliver comfort, control and reliability on unpaved routes.
At the heart of the project is the Bow Rail System, a proprietary Selle Italia technology that harnesses the synergy between the rails and the saddle body to increase the saddle’s overall flexibility and improve vibration absorption. Already successfully adopted on other models in the range, the Bow Rail System now makes its debut on the new SLR. The system is complemented by dedicated Shock Absorbers engineered to cope with the stresses typical of gravel riding, contributing to a smoother, more stable and controlled ride.
The new SLR Gravel also introduces thicker padding and a wider nose, solutions that enhance comfort and support without altering the hallmark SLR feeling. Sizes and dimensions remain consistent with the standards of the range, while dedicated graphics beneath the saddle shell allow the model to be identified immediately.
Among the key innovations is the new removable protective insert that covers the central Superflow cut-out. Developed from feedback gathered directly from riders, it prevents mud and water from passing through the opening during rides in adverse weather conditions, helping to keep cycling shorts dry. The insert can be easily removed to restore the open configuration.
The saddle is completed by reinforced side edges designed to increase resistance to impacts and abrasion, along with integrated reflective inserts that improve visibility in low-light conditions.
Available in S3 and L3 sizes, the new SLR Gravel is offered in Elite and Advan versions.
