535,824 school kids taking part in industry-funded Big Pedal promotion

535,824 school children are currently taking part in the industry-funded Big Pedal, a cycle-to-school promotion delivered by Sustrans. 1,677 schools have registered to take part in the inter-schools challenge event, which started at the beginning of the week and lasts until 31st March.

On each day of the challenge schools compete to see which can record the greatest number of pupils, staff and parents cycling to school. All participating schools are entered into daily prize draws for rewards including bike and scooter stunt shows, equipment and storage.

The Big Pedal is funded by the Bike Hub industry levy.
