Distribution for the emergency identification and notification system ICEdot has been taken on by 2pure.

The ICEdot Crash Sensor attaches to a rider’s helment and monitors for major impacts. If forces exceed the threshold, a countdown is triggered and if not disabled alerts the rider’s emergency contacts of their GPS coordinates via SMS. ICEdot currently works with iPhone 4S and 5, with an Android version in the works. ICEdot will retail for £139.

The distribution deal came about following a collaboration between ICEdot and 2pure-distributed POC’s AVIP range of products.

ICEdot’s CEO Chris Zenthoefer said: “ICEdot is focused on creating simple, intelligent safety solutions for athletes so they can pursue their adventures with peace of mind. We are excited to bring our products to fast growing cycling community in the UK.”

The ICEdot Band and Helmet Stickers provide instant access to emergency info through any mobile device.

In case of emergency, a first responder can send an SMS text message containing the PIN number on the inside of the band or on the helmet sticker to the number specified. A response message is immediately sent containing information the owner has elected to share such as who they are, emergency contacts and specific medical needs or conditions.

The ICEdot Band and Helmet Stickers retail for £20. More details on ICEdot at www.ICEdot.org

Dealers can get more info or order via their territory manager or 2pure’s sales team on 0844 811 2001.
