High performance pads promise to outperform carbon-specific pads in all conditions

Zipp launches Tangente Cork Brake Pads

New brake pads from Zipp have been developed to the tackle the intense heat and residue build up caused by braking on carbon.

According to Zipp, the Tangente High Performance Cork Brake Pad outperforms all other carbon-specific pads whatever the conditions, and combines the stopping power and durability of a synthetic polymer with the heat resistant and smooth feel of cork.

Operating at lower temperatures than rubber-based pads, the Tangente leaves no melted pad residue, reduces pulsation from rims and can extend wheelset life up to four times. The composite material is reported to offer greater stopping power than traditional cork, while also being less ‘grabby’ than rubber for improved braking modulation.

Zipp also said that the Tangente is one of the most durable carbon-specific pads available, with longer wear than traditional cork.
