ZF to unveil e-bike drive system at Eurobike

The ZF Group has confirmed plans to unveil its new drive system for e-bikes for the first time at Eurobike in July.

The ‘ZF Bike Eco System’ contains all the components required for the electric drive system, such as the drive unit, batteries, control and operating units, an app and a connection to the cloud. The core component is a powerful yet compact mid-motor.

ZF will be represented at Eurobike at booth A09 in hall 12.1 as well as in the outdoor area F12 I12, from July 3, to July 7.

“We offer e-bike manufacturers the complete drive system from a single source,” explained Daniel Haerter, head of the micromobility business at ZF Group.

“Our ultra-compact and lightweight mid-motor is unique in the segment of powerful e-bike drives. We have developed a technically first-class drive system that e-bike manufacturers can install on the bike with significantly less effort than with standard e-drives on the market. In addition, the form factor of the drive unit offers greater design freedom for bike manufacturers.”

With the ZF Bike Eco System, ZF covers almost all e-bike types such as gravel, commuter or urban through to mountain, trekking or SUV bikes.

The system is also open with interfaces and integration options for third party providers, so that bike manufacturers are very flexible in their choice of additional components for their various specifications.

Eurobike 2024 is on the way to repeating last year’s visitor metrics with the 32nd edition expected to achieve “excellent participation”, according to the organisers.

Stefan Reisinger, Fairnamic managing director, said: “Over the past few months, we have managed to further expand the success of the last event and are already looking forward to excellent participation at Eurobike 2024.

“Face-to-face meetings, brand presence and the joint setting of topics for industry interests are what count particularly when times are tough. Eurobike has become a firm fixture and our expected field of participants from more than 1,900 exhibiting companies brings together all relevant players in the global value chain.

“We are delighted to welcome back global players and brands in 2024 who recently took a break from having a booth at the fair. In addition, the providers from the light electric mobility segment are increasingly in the spotlight.”
