The bike industry is a community defined by passion, resilience, and the tireless work of independent shops at the beating heart of our industry. At BikeBiz, we’re committed to not just reporting on the industry but using our platform for its benefit.
This is why we have been shifting our focus to a new, community-led approach, and we want your input.
We are launching the BikeBiz Bike Shop Survey, an initiative designed to go beyond the numbers and uncover the real-world experiences bike shops are facing. We want to know what’s working for you, what your biggest challenges are, and what opportunities you see on the horizon.
This survey is more than a data collection exercise; it’s the foundation for our future content. The insights will act as a guide for future articles and features designed to benefit our audience. This is your chance to share what’s working, what isn’t, and what you need from the wider industry.
We’ve recently launched new initiatives that put a spotlight on the people and businesses that make our industry. Our Mechanic of the Month series, in partnership with Bikebook, celebrates the unsung heroes who keep our wheels turning. And our ‘People who make the Industry‘ features delve deeper into people working in a variety of roles.Â
We’re also launching a new Q&A series to feature bike shops. By showcasing your stories, we hope to support and inspire other shops and build a stronger, more connected community.
We’re part of this community, and we care about it, and the people within it, and want to use our platform for more than just reporting what’s going on. This survey is the first step building more of a partnership with our readers. We want to work with shops to gather valuable insights, showcase what works well, and bring those themes to our entire audience. The more we hear from you, the more we can focus on what matters most to our audience.Â
We’re not just journalists; the team has worked in the industry in many guises, and many of our contributions come from across the industry – Lauren Jenkins, BikeBiz Editor
Why Your Insights Matter
The bike retail landscape is changing, and you are at the heart of it. At BikeBiz, we believe the best way to report on these changes is by listening directly to you.
Your participation is important; what you share will directly inform our content, from reports on trends to practical tips for the benefit of your business. It will also give us the data we need to help communicate your needs to the wider industry. The goal is to foster a “community, not competition” mindset, where shops can learn from each other’s experiences.
So, please, take ten minutes to make your voice heard. Help us understand the current landscape and shape the future of BikeBiz content.
