West London skate and BMX hotspot, Bay66, could be facing closure as the Kensington and Chelsea planning department feels "The Skatepark does not serve needs of the local youths".
In place of the skate, BMX and inline hotspot, the borough’s council are considering a change of use. The Westway Development Trust proposes turning the area under the bridge where the skatepark currently lies into either a garden centre, or office space.
The skate park, which was formerly know as ‘Playstation’, is now known as Bay66 thanks to Microsoft’s Xbox branch taking over sponsorship.
A petition to ‘save’ the park is now live and found here.
