Smart has moved its production line from Shenzen, China to a new purpose built 3,000 square metre facility just outside Luchu, Taiwan.
Claiming to be the world’s largest producer of bicycle lighting equipment, Smart already has its headquarters and a production line in the Taiwanesse district, though its production line was previously based in China.
According to founder Kevin Chen the move is largely down to "the serious labour shortage, combined with the yearly labour cost increase from 20 to 25 per cent."
