Force reporting positive results from being able to cover more ground in a shorter space of time

Wisper donates e-bike to City of London Police

Wisper has donated one of its 906xc Tourer electric bikes to the City of London Police force.

Having been approached by officers about a trial at the 2010 Cycle Show, the e-bike specialist has customised one of its models, giving it a hi-vis finish and Police decals. Positive feedback on the use of electric bikes to police the streets has already been returned.

Antony Wolfson, PS 75 Cycle Squad Sergeant from the City of London Police said of the bike: "Our Cycle Squad uses a variety of specially modified bikes to police the Square Mile, but we wanted to look at what advantages using an e-bike could bring to City policing. We are extremely grateful to Wisper for making its e-bike available to us and our experience has been extremely positive. The Wisper covers ground more quickly, which allows instant access to areas usually inaccessible by car. The extra power of the e-bike allows an officer to move quickly and definitely fits with our objectives; helping us to cut crime in the Square Mile."

Wisper’s 906xc tourer features a lightweight carbon matrix frame coupled with premium components, such as the Shimano eight-hub gears, a super efficient lightweight motor and refined on-board electronics.
