Windwave gets Nokian tyres

Dillglove sold 60 000 Nokian tyres in the UK in 1999. The Finnish phones-to-wellies company known as Nokia as well as Nokian wants to up that figure by raising its brand awareness and chose Windwave to do the raising. An ad campaign for the MTB press has been booked, team sponsorship deals are in progress and tech support will be offered at key races, including the National Points Series.

According to Peter Nisbet, Windwaves MD, there will be no major changesto the current distribution chain, with many of the larger wholesalers carrying stock.

February/March sees the launch of five additions to the Nokian tyre range. The Gazzaloddi gets some slimline buddies at 2.3 and 2.1; a new Spike mud-eater is introduced; the Boazabeana XC range is expanded with a 450gm 1.9 Ultralight flyer and a 2.1 semi-slick, both of which are ice-blue.
