Reports indicate that the online retailer is considering a move from Portsmouth

Wiggle’s Midlands move to put local jobs at risk?

According to a report in local site ‘The News‘, around 200 jobs are thought to be at risk as online retail giant Wiggle is considering moving its distribution centre from Portsmouth to the logistics-friendly Midlands.

The report says that a consultation process has begun, but added that other parts of its business will grow within the city. Why the move? There’s a lack of space in Portsmouth to expand into as well as, presumably, the logistical benefits of being placed in the middle of the country.

Wiggle recently scored a position on the Fast Track 200 list, detailing the UK’s top growth firms. Earlier in the summer Wiggle floatation rumours hit the headlines again. There’s more on Wiggle here.
