E-tailer also announces sponsorship of Wolverhampton sportive

Wiggle up for online retail award

Wiggle has today announced that it has been shortlisted for an Oracle Retail Week Award, as well as announcing its sponsorship of a Wolverhampton Sportive.

As one of six to be shortlisted, the online bike and triathlon retailer is up against the likes of Ocado and Kiddicare, among others. Last year the e-tailer scooped the Product Innovation of the Year award for its Verenti sportive-suited bikes.

Martin Talbot, Wiggle’s director of marketing, said: "We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this award. This is one of the biggest events in the retail calendar and the fact Wiggle is in the final alongside the industry’s elite says a lot about our phenomenal growth and hard work in the past year."

Winners will be revealed by Retail Week on March 15th next year.

Meanwhile, the online giant has also announced its sponsorship of the Motion in Mercia sportive, set for Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas on Sunday April 15th next year.

Working alongside Kilo To Go, Wiggle has got behind the sportive, which offers both 50 and 90 mile rides through the county’s tranquil country lanes. With few climbs on this sportive, cyclists will be able to enjoy the cruise up through the
luscious forest of Cannock Chase. Entrants to the 90 mile route will pedal that bit further, to be greeted by the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ironbridge.

More on the sportive can be found here.
