The aluminium WH-7800 wheel set, 1580 grams per pair, was introduced in 2002. The carbon set is just 1290 grams per pair.
The wheels feature the same spoke pattern as the aluminum WH-7800 wheel set. The rear wheel features a wide flange hub design and an asymetrical rim that results in additional stiffness and stability.
The wheels will be available to buy from Spring 2005.
Shimano is also close to introducing its new tubeless road wheels, developed in conjunction with several tyre
