Local Bike Shop Day is fast approaching, with the support of industry bodies such as the ACT. IBDs already have the opportunity to be featured in an extensive directory of participating stores, but it’s now been confirmed that as part of the promotion for the day, shops have the chance to be featured in a short film that will aim to showcase what makes shops such an essential part of the industry and cycling culture as a whole.
The film, which will be produced by Modesto.Works owner Deryck Jones, will demonstrate “the importance and benefits of marketing and promotion. Possibly, and more importantly, creating ‘professional’ executed ‘content’ can help develop branding and identity through social media channels."
Shops can send in their own footage for inclusion; Jones has requested specific shots from those looking to take part including store exterior footage, cutaway shots and interviews answering the following questions:
How long has your shop been trading?
Why is ‘Local Bike Shop Day’ important to you?
What is special or unique about your shop?
How important are your customers to you?
What does good customer service mean to you?
Once filmed, Jones asks that shops get in touch to discuss the transfer of the video.
More than 70 IBDs have already signed up to take part, so shops are encouraged to get in touch as soon as possible.
