Wal-mart to stock bikes in the UK

Wal-mart is Americas biggest retailer of bicycles. Fears that it could become the UKs biggest bike shop at the expense of both IBDs and Halfords mean BikeBiz will be keeping close tabs on the Bristol demonstration store.

This is a re-branded Asda store with all the trademark Wal-mart signage and design.

In the US, Wal-mart shifts hundreds of thousands of Mongoose bikes a year, here it will be Roadmaster bikes, from the same Brunswick Corporation stable.

The highest priced bike in the trial all the Roadmasters are sourced direct from the US is £150.
