Wahoo partners with Ian Boswell for inaugural Peacham Fall Fondo

Wahoo Fitness has partnered with professional cyclist Ian Boswell for the Peacham Fall Fondo taking place on 13 October.

The inaugural event, which takes place in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, has welcomed the Katusha-Alpecin pro on board to partake in rides along some of the area’s “most scenic, tranquil roads during peak foliage season”.

“We are pleased to partner with Ian on this new event in one of the country’s most beautiful riding destinations,” said Wahoo Fitness founder and CEO Chip Hawkins. “Beyond simply helping our sponsored athletes achieve results in top-level races, we always look for ways to help our athletes — and the whole cycling community – by sharing our passion for memorable rides of every kind.”

The ride will take participants on a 45-mile route, encompassing many of Boswell’s favourite training routes.

“I’m really excited to share the roads around Peacham with cyclists from all over the country,” said Boswell. “Here in the Northeast Kingdom, we have a tight-knit community that prizes being a good neighbour and I’m excited for our local community to welcome so many visitors who are gathering here to enjoy and celebrate this special region by bike.”

Wahoo will give cyclists the chance to try out its Kickr smart trainer, and Elemnt bike computers, as well as its Live Track feature, to monitor progress around the course. Wahoo will also lead a community clean-up event the day after to ensure that “we leave Peacham as beautiful as we found it”.

The event will raise funds for the construction of a pavilion, to be located in the centre of Peacham.

“The proposed structure – a space that will be used to foster education and stewardship with activities, workshops, and events like the Peacham Acoustic Music Festival and future Peacham Fall Fondos – is symbolic of the community strength and unity that we aim to celebrate during this event,” added Boswell.
