Wahoo Fitness partners with Specialized Zwift Academy tri team

Wahoo has joined the Specialized Zwift Academy Tri Team as the official training hardware supplier.

Team members will each receive a Wahoo Kickr smart trainer to support its indoor cycling on Zwift. Wahoo Elemnt Bolt bike computers together with Tickr heart rate monitors and RPM speed and cadence sensors will support the team’s outside bike training and racing.

In addition to on-the-bike support, Wahoo will also be providing running assistance through Woodway treadmills equipped with the Wahoo GEM. The Wahoo GEM module delivers Bluetooth connectivity to CSAFE-enabled cardio equipment – meaning the treadmill will be able to communicate directly with Zwift.

“This is without doubt the best-supported amateur team in the sport of triathlon and I’m delighted that Wahoo can be a part of the journey,” said Colin Eustace, VP marketing at Wahoo. “These athletes will be doing large parts of their training indoors, as many triathletes do, so the partnership is very natural. We are excited to see these athletes realise their full potential and are proud that we can deliver the products that will be an integral part of their training regime.”

The Specialized Zwift Academy Tri Team will come together to qualify and race at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii on 13th October this year.
