Cycling advocate Brady Clark designs vest. Wireless version two in the pipeline

VIDEO: DIY cycling vest displays rider’s speed

Cycling advocate Brady Clark has combined an off-the-shelf speedometer and a high visibility vest to create a unique speed display equipped piece of night riding gear.

With version one taking just three days to complete, Brady already has plans to improve the design by removing any wires, something the designer says has been a hinderance to date. It is also hoped the design’s inner workings can be minimised to make the product a bit more market friendly.

The seven inch high display certainly stands out, whether or not motorists view the display as a challenge, or a reminder of their own speed habits remains to be seen.

Clark posted his step-by-step guide on how to make your own Speed Vest on Make.

Thanks to @hippiemark for the tip off on this unique piece of kit.
