Velorbis goes electric with Elechic

Danish bike brand Velorbis has entered the electric bike market with the Elechic range.

Branded the industry’s first ‘normal’ classic style bicycle with electric motors, the bikes – as the name suggests – promise to blend e-bike functionality with beautifully designed aesthetics.

The Elechic uses an advanced electric driving system – a compact solution that allows all of Velorbis’ premium bicycle models to be transformed into electric bike versions.

The firm said: "The Velorbis electric bike range is named Elechic; derived from merging the words ‘Electric’, as in motor, and ‘Chic’, as in smart, timeless style. It was chosen because it perfectly epitomises the true values of Velorbis by combining first class design, practicality and performance.

"It comprises the following ladies and gents models: Victoria Classic-Elechic, Dannebrog-Elechic, Scrap Deluxe-Elechic, Churchill Classic-Elechic, Churchill Balloon-Elechic and Scrap Deluxe-Elechic. The Velorbis Mobii tricycle is currently available in both manual and electric versions."

The bikes are not stock items and are built to order, with lead times from four to six weeks. The Elechic will be available through Velorbis’ network of retailers including Cavendish Cycles, the flagship retailer for the bike in London.

We’ll bring you more on Elechic in the next edition of BikeBiz.
