US Press Camp surpasses goal for media titles

Twenty editors representing 28 publications will convene at Press Camp in Sun Valley, Idaho, June 23-25, to talk about and test products from bicycle industry brands.

The brands include Cannondale, Scott USA, Lazer hlmets, Gore Ride On, Sugoi, GT, Mongoose, Pedros’, Smith Optics, Saris, Clif, Delta Sports, DT Swiss, BMC, Schwinn, Hutchinson and Blue Competition Cycles.

Journalists from mainstream publications and websites such as Men’s Journal, Los Angeles Times, Wired, and Outside are attending, along with representatives from bike mags such as most of the US bicycle titles, and BikeBiz and Singletrack of the UK.

Press Camp takes place at Sun Valley Resort, Idaho, and includes time for demos, one-on-one classroom sessions, product displays, and networking.

"We’re thrilled to welcome the bike industry to Sun Valley," said Andy Christensen, Sales Executive for Sun Valley Resort.

"With world-class trails and gorgeous roads right outside our door, we offer the perfect venue for product testing and good times."

Pro mountain bike racer and 2008 Olympian Georgia Gould will be on hand to ride with the editors and talk trails.

"Press Camp makes perfect sense for us this year," said Michael De Leon, PR & Advocacy Manager for Cycling Sports Group.

"We’re looking forward to being able to meet with top-notch journalists and show off some exciting new products we will be offering in 2010."

Lifeboat Solutions has also enlisted the field expertise of Western Spirit Cycling, whose professional guides will lead cross-country, downhill and road rides.

"We’re excited to help with this event," said Ashley Korenblat, founder of Western Spirit Cycling. "We know Sun Valley trails like the back of our hands and plan to guide people to the perfect testing grounds for all types of equipment."

Interbike veteran Lance Camisasca of Lifeboat Solutions founded Press Camp. He said: "We’re very happy with how Press Camp is coming together. It’s our first year, and the response has been off the charts."
