High-end bearing brand Ultimate Ceramic Bearings is looking to enter the UK market with either a new distribution deal or key trade dealers.
The brand, which started out as a carbon company supplying and selling carbon products, adapted as the market changed turned its attention to other areas of the bike. After landing on the bearing aspect, the brand started to develop performance bearings back in 2006.
“We carefully sourced all of the products and began to build bearings that were all consistent, hand assembled and hand checked. We wanted to use a bearing to give performance, so we developed a nano substrate treatment that meant the bearings were treated and could spin effortlessly without grease. The treatment was also self-healing and water tolerable. We continue to use that system today, NANOTEC which other top brands utilise to some extent, be we offer much better price points,” founder Andy Ward told BikeBiz.
“The UK market has not really been pushed due to our developments in other ares; we believe a major player in the trade can take on the brand as a distribution partner, with major margins on sales, AND key dealers may also be able to do the same,” he concluded.
