Troy Lee Designs has announced the new A2 MIPS helmet for mountain bike riders.
The helmet features what Troy Lee Designs is calling an industry first in safety and performance. The A2 builds on the success of its predecessor to combine EPP and EPS in critical impact zones; this unique system is designed to manage impact energy from collisions.
The integrated MIPS protection system reduces rotational forces which can damage the brain, whilst a duel-intensity impact liner with co-molded EPS and EPP add 16 per cent extra thickness to lobe impact zones.
The unit also features a 22 per cent increase in air intake and an increase in exhaust port area size to keep the user ventilated and comfortable. An extra-plush comfort liner with hydrolytic foam and x-static fabric are also included for quick dry and moisture wicking performance.
The A2 comes with an ultra-breathable helmet bag and retails at $169 in the US and $175 for a limited SRAM reflective edition. The helmet is yet to receive a UK price point.
