Trash Free Trails (TFT) are calling upon more brands and businesses across cycling to join them in partnership, supporting their vital work to protect trails and inviting their communities to be part of the solution to the litter crisis.
TFT, founded in 2019 by Dom Ferris, has, in that time, engaged over 5,000 volunteers and surveyed half a million items of rubbish, saving UK taxpayers almost £550k in public clean-up costs.
Today, TFT are calling upon more brands and businesses across cycling to join them in partnership, supporting their vital work to protect trails and invite their communities to be part of the solution to the litter crisis.

With awards from Singletrack and the European Network of Outdoor Sports, TFT has demonstrated that trails in all their forms are a significant touchstone for many, and the appetite of users to give back and build a sense of community with others.
Having been quite literal ‘trail blazers’ in the bike industry, having been established as a small Community Interest Company (CiC), in recent years Trash Free Trails have extended their reach beyond the outdoor industry, receiving an Honorary Mention for the European Union’s Prize for Citizen Science in 2024 and contributing to the development of key UK circular economy policies such as the Deposit Return Scheme on drinks containers.
Their annual ‘State of Our Trails Reports’ make waves across government, highlighting the value of trails to users across the country, and their lack of adequate recognition in environmental policy both nationally and internationally.
Dom Ferris, CEO, Trash Free Trails, outlines: “Our partners are more than donors; they’re part of our community. We start with shared care for trails and wild places, prioritising real outcomes on the ground – clean trails and stronger nature connection, wellbeing and inclusion. We then translate that work into clear data for nature-risk reporting (TNFD), ESG reporting (GRI) and UN global goals (SDGs) – reinforcing the undeniably positive act of supporting people to protect the places they love, together.”
With over 40 brands and businesses already backing Trash Free Trails, the relaunch marks a forward-focused way for organisations seeking to highlight their commitment to environmental issues to show customers and community members that they are being not only proactive, but part of delivering an ambitious mission centred on positivity, connection and ultimately, flourishing trails.
“Trash Free Trails is all about making it your own. Look closely where you roam, absorb, expand and move it on. TFT are that link that lets you act alone but work together,” comments Jez Loftus, of Trek Bikes.
