22-year old design student Steven Savage from Norfolk has designed a lightweight, single-wheel folding bike trailer and has been awarded a £650 Audi Foundation grant

Trailer designer given grant to develop his idea

Savage is in his final year of a BSc (Hon) product design course at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College in High Wycombe. The seat-post attaching aluminium trailer was the result of a course project.

The project brief was to design an improved and more desirable bicycle powered light-load trailer than those currently available. My design is lighter, cheaper and easier to manufacture than existing designs, claims Savage, who seems not to be aware of the latest lightweight trailers from Burley and other companies.
