Funds being raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care

Trade joins in Cyclescheme’s 100-mile charity commute

Staff from Cyclescheme and Grass Roots Group are teaming up with members of the cycle industry for a 100-mile ‘commute’ to raise funds for charity.

The ride follows up last year’s effort where Cyclescheme and Grass Roots staff commuted from Cyclescheme HQ in Bath to Grass Roots Group head office in Tring, Hertfordshire – a ride of just over 100 miles.

People from bike brands and suppliers, as well as cycling journalist and author Rob Penn.

"Following on from last year’s gallant effort we have high hopes for our 100-mile commute this year,” explained Cyclscheme’s Daniel Gillborn. “Raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care is very important to us and affords us the chance to combine raising money for charity with our core values as the UK’s leading Cycle to Work provider.

“With a bigger team of riders, more support and the experience of last year behind us I’m confident we’ll hit our £5,000 target."

You can donate to the cause at www.justgiving.com/100mile-commute. Alternatively, you can simply ask people to text the following code: CSMC90, plus the amount they wish to sponsor you, to 70070.

Elaine Curtin added: “Please help by donating whatever you can to this very worthy cause. We’ll keep you updated on the ride from our training, right through to live reports on the day.

“If your business makes a donation we will include your company logo on the Cyclescheme page where we will be publishing pre-ride, during the ride and post ride content. Just make sure I receive your logo and I will sort that out for you. Please send it to me at ecurtin1@gmail.com.”
