USB built into watchstrap for easy data uploads

TomTom teams up with Nike for SportWatch

Ideal for the triathlon and running markets, Nike’s TomTom team-up packs a fair bit of kit into a slim-line watch.

Offering GPS, the SportWatch measures time, pace and distance along with calories burned and heart rate (the latter available if the Polar WearLink transmitter is purchased).

A clear, backlit screen provides statistics at a glance and even messages encouraging the user to have a run if they’ve been slacking off.

The attractively packaged Nike+ Sportwatch GPS has a USB connector built into the watchstrap for the all-important upload of run data. When sent to a computer, the user can keep tabs on their training progress and upload to the nikeplus community.

There’s also a new TomTom Rider in the works. Primarily pitched at motorbikes, the waterproof navigation tool can also be used on the bicycle and features a touchscreen that can be operated while wearing gloves, set to retail circa £250.
