The world’s best cycling podcasts

According to Apple’s iTunes, the world’s leading cycling podcast is the Zwiftcast which tracks and promotes the online cycle trainer business Zwift. Cycling doesn’t have its own category in iTunes, the closest match is Sports & Hobbies/Outdoors. That’s why two NHS health podcasts lead the list, with Zwiftcast in at number six.

Lance Armstrong’s new pay-to-play podcast – The Forward – is second on the iTunes rankings (if the other outdoor podcasts are discounted), with Jack Thurston’s The Bike Show in at a respectable third. Resonance FM has been broadcasting Thurston’s eclectic show since 2004. The Briefing from Scotland’s Velocast is the fourth cycling podcast on the iTunes list.

Fifth, despite being offline since 2015, is David Bernstein’s The Fredcast. Sixth is the Ask a Cycling Coach podcast.

In at number seven is The Spokesmen podcast, which has been airing for eleven years. Hosted and produced by The Fredcast’s Bernstein, the Spokesmen is a "cycling industry roundtable podcast" now often hosted by BikeBiz’s Carlton Reid – he’s usually the lone Brit on a show with mostly American industry types such as bike designer Anna Schwinn, lawyer Jim Moss and Bike Mag editor Nicole Formosa.
