As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for assessing, servicing, and repairing Wattbikes, including full breakdowns and rebuilds. You will also conduct quality control (QC) checks on bikes as per the daily manifest. A high level of attention to detail is required to ensure all work is completed to the highest standard, providing an excellent first-time service.
We are currently looking to recruit a cycle Mechanic/Wheelbuilder in our fully-equipped workshop within our shop/warehouse premises. Whilst wheelbuilding ability would be desirable, we would also be pleased to consider a Mechanic who would like to gain these skills.
Responsibilities of the position include assembly of custom-built bicycles and wheels. Identifying faults, damage and wear. Liaison with customers on bicycle and wheelset specifications. Advising customers on repairs, and carrying out repairs. Preparation of cost estimates for the above. Retail shop service.
The position is full time (40hr/wk) to include some Saturdays, although a job-share arrangement may be considered. The job role includes building, servicing, and repairing bicycles/e-bikes to the highest standard. Interact with customers to assess their bicycle repair and maintenance needs. Provide recommendations and cost estimates for services. Conduct safety inspections on bicycles to identify and address potential safety hazards. Keeping on top of workshop stock and ensuring that stock is replenished before it runs out. Ensure the workshop is clean, tidy, and safe for use. Occasionally, carrying out test rides and sales with customers to support other staff.

Oversee daily store operations including sales, stock management, and merchandising. Provide expert advice on cycling, running gear, footwear, and accessories. Monitor and drive store performance against targets and KPIs. Build strong customer relationships, offering support to both new and seasoned athletes. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company standards.

Reporting directly to the Bikes Buying Manager, the Junior Bikes & Hard Goods Buyer is responsible for selecting, purchasing, and managing inventory for cycling-related products such as bicycles, components, tools, and accessories. They ensure the right mix of products is available to meet customer demand while aligning with Sigma Sports commercial targets & values
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the cycling industry, product trends, and customer needs with the willingness to learn and further develop the commercial Buying skills in an energetic, high performing team.
This role requires collaboration with Suppliers & Brands as well as internal teams. As an advocate for innovation and exclusivity being key pillars to the commercial strategy, it is vital to ensure the best products are available, while maintaining optimal inventory levels to the benefit of our customers.
