Bike Mechanic and/or Operations Coordinator

We are ideally looking for one individual to fulfil this role full-time over 35 hours per week but could look at splitting into two part-time roles as 1 x bike mechanic servicing a fleet of 20 bikes over 14 hours per week and 1 x operations coordinator over 21 hours per week.

As the Bike Mechanic and Operations Coordinator, you will take a hands-on approach to coordinating and maintaining our outdoor equipment and associated trip operations. This role is integral to ensuring our trips are well-prepared and equipped, delivering a 5-star experience to our guides and clients. You will oversee digital inventory, track maintenance, and optimise processes for seamless trip delivery, working closely with the sales, operations, and guiding teams to support Wilderness England’s seasonal needs.

Mechanic/Wheelbuilder

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Cycle Mechanic/Wheelbuilder. Whilst wheelbuilding ability would be desirable, we would also be pleased to consider a Mechanic who would like to gain these skills.

Responsibilities of the position include the assembly of custom-built bicycles and wheels. Identifying faults, damage and wear. Liaison with customers on bicycle and wheelset specifications. Advising customers on repairs, and carrying out repairs, maintenance and general servicing. Preparation of cost estimates for the above. Retail shop service.

The position is full time (40hr/wk) to include some Saturdays, although a job-share arrangement may be considered. We offer an attractive salary package commensurate with experience, the potential for overtime, 28 days pa paid holiday, a Company Pension Scheme and a generous staff discount programme.

Experienced Sales Person

We are currently recruiting for an Experienced sales person (full-time or part-time) to join our bike shop. This is a very unique opportunity as Mud Dock typically runs a very low staff turnover, as we like to stick around. As well as helping our Store Manager keeping your team engaged and motivated, you will need to embrace a real passion and understanding of cycling along with trends and new tech. You maintain the efficient and effective operational day-to-day running of the store as well as leading your sales team from the front.

Our expectations are that the ideal candidate will possess a proven record of sales and team leading. Be in charge of all shop floor operations and emails. Be confident in selling our key brands (Brompton, Cannondale, Trek, Basso and Tern). Have a good understanding of current P&A as well as great mechanical skills (Cytech 1 or equivalent experience preferable). Take full accountability for key holding, housekeeping, and deliveries. Champion our products by delivering an excellent experience, be a role model and brand ambassador, energising your team to drive sales to meet and exceed store KPI’s. Manage warranty requests.
