Cycle Retail & Trail Centre Shop Manager

Are you passionate about mountain biking and delivering exceptional customer experiences?

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic cycle retail manager to join our trail centre shop team at Whinlatter Forest. In this dynamic role, you will oversee the daily operations of our cycle retail and bike rental store, lead and inspire a team of dedicated staff, and help drive the business towards even greater success. Cyclewise Whinlatter is based at the MTB trail head of Whinlatter in the Lake District, offering a specialist environment focusing predominately on mountain bike products, with some of the best mountain bike trails in England just on the doorstep.

We are looking for someone with previous experience in retail management, ideally in the cycling industry or a related field. Knowledge of bike mechanics. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. A genuine passion for cycling and outdoor activities. Customer-focused with a positive, can-do attitude. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers and suppliers. Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks at once. Ability to manage stock, inventory, and budgets efficiently. Knowledge of cycling products, equipment, and trends is highly desirable. First Aid qualification or willingness to complete training (desirable). Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Assistant Manager/Senior Sales person

We are currently recruiting for a new Assistant Manager andor Senior Sales Person (full-time or part-time) to join our bike shop. These are very unique opportunities as Mud Dock typically runs a very low staff turnover, as we like to stick around. As well as helping our Store Manager keeping your team engaged and motivated, you will need to embrace a real passion and understanding of cycling along with trends and new tech. You maintain the efficient and effective operational day-to-day running of the store as well as leading your sales team from the front.

Our expectations for the dieal candidate is someone who possesses a proven record of sales and team leading. Be in charge of all shop floor operations and emails. Be confident in selling our key brands (Brompton, Cannondale, Trek, Basso and Tern). Have a good understanding of current P&A as well as great mechanical skills (Cytech 1 or equivalent experience preferable). Take full accountability for key holding, housekeeping, and deliveries. Champion our products by delivering an excellent experience, be a role model and brand ambassador, energising your team to drive sales to meet and exceed store KPI’s. Manage warranty requests.

Senior Mechanic

We’re excited to be looking for senior bike mechanics to join our team! We’re looking for a people person who enjoys working on bikes, learning new things, highly practical with good time management. The role involves repair of bikes across our busy programme of cycle maintenance, cycle loan schemes, maintenance courses, and fleet bikes for businesses.

The post holder will work predominantly in our Eddington location and be the main mechanic for this site but will something work at our Cowley road location or out of house. You will be responsible for ensuring that jobs are booked in correctly, Supervising other mechanics and assisting the on-site staff with booking in stock and placing orders

The role will report to the Workshop Manager and work closely with the Programme Coordinator to ensure high quality delivery of our services. The post holder must enjoy working hands on in varied workplace and be tech-savvy, as well as happy to work outside in all weathers. They must also be a people person, who enjoys delivering fantastic customer service. We are a small dynamic team, and we encourage ideas and strategic input from all members. The role includes scope to grow, and we look to nurture staff looking to develop in their roles.

You can expect in a typical week to include working in our workshops on customer repairs. Advising and helping customers with purchases and repairs. Preparing and handing out hire bikes on and off-site.

Dealer Support & Customer Service Agent

You will contribute to the growth of the RideWrap brand by supporting our Tech Rep team and RideWrap Dealer network globally, and provide customer service support for our shop in Cobham. You will also take ownership of all dealer support, kit list maintenance, general administrative responsibilities for the Tech Rep team, and other duties as assigned. As an expert on all things RideWrap, you’ll build strong relationships with our shops, brands, and RideWrap teams.
