In 2016, The Cycle Division moved to new custom built premises to accommodate the expanding range of products that it stocks and distributes to the trade.
At the time, Chris Giles of The Cycle Division told BikeBiz: “The building we’ve worked out of since 2001 has run its course. It probably ran its course 10 years ago as it’s an old multi-tenanted mill, which Huddersfield is full of.
“For years we’ve been looking to move into somewhere more modern but the topography of the area has never lent itself to easily facilitate your everyday industrial estate. Last year a new one began construction. We put our name down and all being well we have a successful move next week.”
This move gave the business a more streamlined order processing, picking and dispatch process. The decision to expand the range was taken during 2017 when Elvedes the Dutch braking manufacturer contacted The Cycle Division to enter the UK market, David Carey UK Representative from Elvedes has said that The Cycle Division was the “ideal partner for the Elvedes range with there depth of knowledge and customer base.”
TCD director Martin Ingham commented: “The Elvedes range is comprehensive and highlights include a full range of inner cables including the 49 Strand Flexible, which is ideal for todays bikes with internal cable routing, outer cabling in over 15 different colours that can be stored in the unique boxer dispenser for ease of mechanic use that has a unique grommet to stop the cable falling inside the box, and the Aerostream disc pads with replaceable coloured fins.”
