Tern has announced two key additions to its global team, with the arrival of Maris Adamovics, who joins the business as Operations Director, and Mark Almond, who will strengthen Tern’s PR and marketing efforts in the UK.
Josh Hon, Tern Team Captain, comments: “Though the market has been a bit challenging the last few years, we’re very confident in the critical importance of urban bicycles in the future of transport, and that’s why we’re continuing to invest in our team, so that we’re more agile and can respond more quickly to market changes. Maris and Mark add a lot of knowledge and passion for cycling to our team.”
Strengthening Operations
Adamovics joins Tern as Operations Director, initially focusing on enhancing the responsiveness and efficiency of Tern’s supply chain.
With over 25 years of experience in the cycling industry, Adamovics brings a broad skill set in product development, sourcing, and quality management. This experience includes four years at Specialized Bicycle Components managing the development of the Globe cargo bike series, preceded by 23 years at Ritchey, culminating in a role as Director of Product Development.
This deep experience sees Adamovics offering unique insight into both the fast-moving, flexible environment of a growing company and the structured, process-driven operations of a major brand.
“Maris is perfectly positioned to accelerate Tern’s evolution towards a disciplined, scalable operation,” stated Matthew Davis, Tern COO. “He will improve how we plan, raise standards for execution, and use data across our processes.”
Expanding UK marketing
Tern also announced its partnership with Red Cloud Marketing, a UK-based public relations agency led by Mark Almond, to boost PR and marketing efforts in the UK.
Integrated into Tern’s marketing team, Red Cloud will help expand the brand’s footprint in the rapidly growing e-bike and urban mobility market.
With over 27 years of marketing experience, including 18 years in the international bike industry, Almond – a Chartered Institute of Marketing graduate and passionate cycling advocate – has worked with top cycling brands, startups, and event organisers. In addition to this Almond also has a strong background in television, radio, and live entertainment marketing.
With Almond joining the team, Tern now has a strong PR network spanning key markets, including InMotion marcom in the EU, Red Cloud in the UK, and Double Digit Communications in North America.
