Surrey event will see cycle celebrities, pro coaches, Gatorade, BH Bikes and Velosure among others

Cycle stars from Team Sky will be riding into IPC’s new Road Cycling Show, courtesy of sponsor Gatorade.

Later this month, riders and coaching staff from the high profile team will appear at the show for seminars and talks, plus an invite-only coaching seminar. They’ll take part in Gatorade’s G Series Pro Theatre over the weekend.

IPC Media, publisher of Cycling Weekly, Cycling Active, Cycle Sport and Cycling Fitness, created the event with TCR Shows – organiser of the Triathlon Show and Running Show.

Andrew Brabazon is working on stand sales and praised the reaction of the bike industry to the new event.

“We’ve had a tremendous response from the trade at all levels,” he enthused. “From individual retailers to distributors, everyone is keen on the format and date as it is a good chance to get in front of a dedicated audience in prime selling time.”

Velosure is to bring Rob Hayles to their stand on the Saturday. The event will also see BH Bikes exhibit their 2012 range as part of a move to boost their presence in the UK. Other highlights include a multi-distance sportive on Sunday, where Boardman bikes will have their demo fleet available for testing.

Keith Foster, publishing director for IPC Media’s cycling title said of the show: “With the huge growth in cycling in the UK, especially London, we feel the time is right to create this kind of show and look forward to creating the best road cycling specific show in the UK.”

The road cycling-aimed event will include a mix of trade and retail with demos and seminars. Brands, distributors and retailers have signed up to the show while other distributors are planning to team up with retailers to showcase product, IPC informed BikeBiz.

The event takes place at Sandown Park, Esher on the weekend of April 21st to 22nd 2012.
