Taipei Cycle design awards now calling for entries

You’ve got until December 18th to put your product in the running for the Taipei Cycle d&I awards.

Entries in the competition are accepted in the categories of

  • Bicycles,
  • Components + Parts,
  • Peripherals + Accessories 
  • E-Bikes + Pedelecs.

All entered products go before an independent international jury of experts who meet in Taipei and assess the entries on the following criteria: Degree of innovation/creativity, Design quality, Workmanship, Choice of material, Environmental compatibility, Functionality, Utility, Safety, Ergonomics and Universal design.

 Not only will the winners pick up an award, but they’ll also get to be a part of Bicycle Design Exhibition in Velocity 2016. Organised by the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF), Velocity is an annual international cycling conference involving experts, association reps, institutions, policy makers and social agents. It serves as a global communications and information platform and in 2016 Taipei will be the first-ever host city in Asia.

This year the Taipei Cycle d&i Awards saw 57 winners were selected from 209 entries by companies and designers from around the world; five of whom received the coveted Taipei Cycle Gold Awards. It is organised by TAITRA (the Taiwan External Trade Development Council) and TBEA (the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters’ Association) and implemented by iF DESIGN Forum GmbH.

Taipei Cycle 2016 is held alongside TaiSPO (Taiwan Int’l Sporting Goods Show) at Taipei NANGANG Exhibition Center Hall 1, TWTC Hall 1 & Hall 3. Combined they offer the sporting goods industry its largest one-stop sourcing trade fair in Asia. The four TAITRA-organised trade shows from March 2 to 5 is expected to attract more than 10,000 int’l visitors.
