Home turbo trainer brand Tacx will be the official supplier of roller and turbo training equipment to the UCI Road World Championships and the London 2012 Olympics.
Tacx, supplied exclusively by Fisher Outdoor Leisure to UK dealers, will supply the UCI Road WC for 2011 until 2013, supplying 30 sets of rollers and turbo trainers for the official UCI warm up area.
For the 2012 London Olympic games Tacx will be official supplier for the road and track events, with high visibility promised for the brand.
UCI president Pat McQuaid said cyclists at the World Championships and Olympics Games would benefit from a new service:
“The UCI has made a lasting commitment to allow riders to benefit from optimum conditions when exercising their sport, not only during the races themselves, but also in the preparatory periods. We know Tacx will provide the athletes with top-quality equipment on which they can conduct safe, effective warm-ups at major world and Olympic events.”
Julie Dommett, head of marketing for Tacx distributor Fisher, added: “This deal underlines the value of high quality training equipment to riders at the top of their sport and the global perception of Tacx being a leader in its field. However, it is equally valuable to bike riders of all disciplines, at all levels and there is something for everyone in the Tacx range.”
Tacx’s home trainers include the Speedmatic folding magnetic trainer at £164.99 RRP rising to the virtual reality Fortius I-Magic Multi Player trainer at £1,129.99 RRP.
