The pure-play B2C retailer that promised to deliver 3.2 student customers - and which branched off into sub-sites for Cosmopolitan, Goodhousekeeping and Esquire - has disappeared from cyberspace

Studentwheels.com flops

Studentwheels.com, which later morphed into Wheels Link Ltd when it partnered with top-drawer magazine company NatMags, has failed to last the distance.

Orginally starting out as a direct-to-the-consumer web-retailer of cars and bicycles, the site soon changed tack when it realised too few suppliers would support it. The change of tack then relied on independent retailers paying to be listed on the variety of Wheels Link sites.

No-one at the company was available to comment but all the Wheels Link sites are now no longer viewable on the web.
