Steven Rutherford’s newly formed North Sports has just starting working with a fourth supplier.
Through North Sports, Rutherford works as an agent, brand ambassador and representing brands for individual and specialist distributors and other companies in the North and Scotland mainly.
North Sports has just begun to work with distributor Upgrade Bikes as the agent for Scotland making a total of four suppliers the company represents in Scotland and the North. North Sports is also agent for Solo Clothing in Scotland, Evo Imports for the North of UK and Rosa Sports for the North of the UK.
In total, North Sports now represents 32 brands in the portfolio: Solo clothing, Chris King, Cielo, Carbon Ti, Evo wheels, Pacenti, ESI Grips, King cage, Hersh bikes, Gipiemme wheels, Pella clothing, Atomlab, Dirty habit, DMR, Effetto Mariposa, Freedom, ISM, Kinesis, Lezyne, Microshift, Oval concepts, Overade, Pivot bikes, Praxis works, Reynolds, RWD, Spedfil, Tektro, TRP, Turn, X-fusion and YBN.
Previous to forming North Sports, Rutherford – a keen road and MTB rider – spend 15 months working for Zyro as an account manager for the North and prior to that as a senior retail manager for Argos for ten years.
Rutherford told BikeBiz: "I have built up some great contacts already in the cycling industry, but I am always keen to know and meet far more.
"I now have formed my own company of North Sports. Initially I am focusing the company on being an agent, brand ambassador and representing brands for individual and specialist distributors and other companies in the North and Scotland mainly.
"I do have a mission with the way I am planning to represent brands, which is built on some very simple principles: Delivering great service always, make ordering simple and seamless where possible, understand what’s important to the businesses I work with, inspire with great products, always be contactable, keeping it simple and easy and delivering on our promises."
