SRAM has revealed the AXS, a new electronic integration platform that connects electronic bicycle components and software.
The line-up includes the SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS, SRAM X01 Eagle AXS and RockShox Reverb AXS.
Five years of design, development and testing have culminated in a line up of products which SRAM has said it believes ‘stand alone’ in terms of performance, technology and user benefits. It has claimed the SRAM and RockShox AXS makes controlling the drivetrain and seatpost components ‘easier, faster and more intuitive than ever before’.
AXS is the umbrella that all of the SRAM and RockShox electronic components live under; an electronic integration platform that connects electronic bicycle components and software allowing riders to control, personalise and monitor their equipment, to build the ‘next generation of bicycles’.
“You don’t mimic a mechanical system with an electronic system. You build an electronic system to do things that a mechanical system can’t do,” said Chris Hilton, SRAM MTB product manager.
The launch was teased at a ZyroFisher event in Watford yesterday evening.
Martin Hawyes, head of marketing at ZyroFisher, said: “This is an incredible moment in time for groupset technology from Road to MTB with seminal changes being shown in all of the products that we have on display tonight. The guys at SRAM have worked very closely with us to support our preview event and we’re really pleased to see so many of the UK’s leading IBDs travel the length and breadth of the country to learn about SRAM AXS and partner with ZyroFisher.”
