Specialized has thrown its support behind the women’s cycling Cycletta series, fronted largely by Olypian Victoria Pendleton.
The brand will work closely with Cycletta organisers Participate Sport to ensure that women taking part are ready for the event. Advice on best gear for this type of riding and how to get ready for the distance will be on the Cycletta website prior to the event and a team from Specialized will be on hand at the events to check participants bike set up, such as tyre pressure and saddle height adjustment.
Nick Rusling, CEO of Participate Sport said: “We are delighted to have formed a partnership with such a credible and well-known bike brand as Specialized. They have a great and affordable range to suit all, right from entry-level right through to elite level cyclists. This is ideal for Cycletta, which are tailored and made for all females, of all ability levels."
Rusling added: “Specialized are delighted to sponsor the six women’s only events Cycletta are organising this year and we can’t wait to be there, meet the riders, help them with their bike and ride alongside them on the day. The 2012 series of events are set to take place in Bedfordshire, Wiltshire, Warwickshire, Brighton, Cheshire and The New Forest, with the first event taking place on May 13th this year."
Macmillan Cancer Support are the official charity of Cycletta and participants are encouraged to join ‘Team Macmillan’ and fundraise to help support the thousands of people affected by cancer in the UK.
