Three beginner BMX bikes now available

Snap Distribution launches Jet house brand

Snap Distribution has launched a beginner BMX line dubbed Jet, targeted at "those who don’t have £300 plus to spend on their first bike."

Designed in Hastings, the three bikes sport a geometry more tailored to 8 to 15 year-old riders. The line is made up of the Jet Basis at £199.99, the Key at £229.99 and Genesis at £249.99. Each is available in two colours and weigh between 24 and 25lbs. The latter two models come adorned with tan wall tyres and a 9-tooth semi-sealed rear hub.

Snap promises to use the brand to support the independent specialist network and believes it has margins to exceed "virtually all competitors." Adverts will be placed in Ride magazine and online shortly to support the launch.

Furthermore, the distributor tells BikeBiz: "Most importantly, we will invest a significant percentage of all sales to support and grow BMX at the grassroots level. A proportion of our website will be dedicated to informing riders how to get skateparks and plazas built in their communities. Our experience shows many parts of the UK without good facilities to ride and we will produce detailed plans to support riders in petitioning their local authorities to get some built. We will give away 10 bikes a year to user groups nationwide to raise funds for their skateparks as well as provide at least one demo a year (using pro riders from other teams) to raise the profile of their cause."
