The Bike Hub website has been given a refresh and now includes smartphone specific cleverness

Smartphone visitors to BikeHub.co.uk prompted to download app

Visit the levy website BikeHub.co.uk via a smartphone and – on your first visit – you’ll see a pop-up asking whether you’d like to download the free bike shop finding cycle natnav app.

The website knows whether the visitor is accessing the site from an iPhone or an Android and serves up either the iTunes store or the Android marketplace. Site visitors from Macs or PCs can use their smartphone cameras to go direct to the app thanks to custom QR codes.

The pop up is only delivered to visitors to the plain URL. Visitors to popular pages – such as the Cycling and the Law page – are not offered the app pop up.

The newly designed website was created by Komodo Digital of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
