In an online poll on Cyclingnews.com, the roadie website, cycle sport fans around the globe overwhelmingly gave the thumbs down to the decision of the Tour de France organiser not to pick the Domina Vacanze team, home to the world champion, Mario Cipollini. In an open letter to the trade and "the cycling community", Mike Sinyard, president of Specialized, requests a deluge of complaints to be forwarded to Jean-Marie Leblanc, organiser of the Tour de France. A Trek-riding Texan has already voiced his displeasure about the pro-French team decision.

Sinyard urges Leblanc to reconsider his Tour ban on Specialized-riding Cipo

"In coordination with Mario’s team and with sponsor Domina Vacanze, we also encourage the rest of the cycling community to make its feelings known, forcefully yet respectfully, through more letters, faxes and posts to online polls and discussion groups," said Sinyard in his open letter.
