"We are aiming our distribution squarely at bikeshops," said Singletrack’s Mark Alker.
"We want to support bike shops and help drive people through the doors so we will not be on newsagents shelves just yet. The mag will be available from CyB and Afan trails and all the major mountain bike events that are still on the cards for this year. ie. Polaris (Summer and Autumn), Red Bull 24 hours, Sleepless In the Saddle (2nd 24hr event), Singlespeed World Championships.
"We are looking for dealers for the mag. We are offering all dealers a link from the Singletrackworld.com website in a special ‘Where to get Singletrack magazine’ section. Current traffic figures of GoFar-mtb.com, which will give way to singletrackworld.com in a few weeks, are around 10,000 readers a month."
The mags are available firm sale in packs of 10 at œ22. The cover price is œ2.95 so the IBD cut is slim, but say the publishers, this is a magazine that fills a true gap in the marketplace and is produced for riders, by riders.
" The timing of a magazine launch in the midst of this FMD crisis is a bit lousy but our target readers are the MTB die hards. Many have contacted us eager to get hold of the magazine as it will at least give them something to read whilst they wait for the trails to re-open," said Alker.
