Sigma Sports to be official supplier of the 2019 UCI Road World Championships

Sigma Sports has today been announced as an official supplier of the 2019 UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire.

The partnership will see the UK road cycling retailer join forces with cycling’s world governing body across a range of activities in the build-up to and during this year’s events.

Sigma Sports’ managing director Ian Whittingham said: “We’ve got a rich history in supporting cycle sport, from our early days supporting the likes of Bradley Wiggins, to owning and running our own UCI Continental Team. To now be working alongside the UCI at one of cycling’s pinnacle events of the year is a huge honour for everyone involved at Sigma Sports.”

UCI president David Lappartient added: “We are delighted by this partnership with Sigma Sports, a cycling retailer that is well-known with enthusiasts of our sport in Great Britain and that will propose fans with a range of Santini products carrying the famous UCI rainbow stripes.”

The partnership will run across a number of areas. Sigma Sports’ head of marketing Calvin Cox said: “The UCI Road World Championships is going to be another landmark for cycling in the UK, bringing the same level of excitement and reach as the London 2012 Olympic cycling events to a part of the UK that has well and truly fallen in love with the sport.

“We’ve traditionally been very well known in the South East of the UK, this iconic event provides a vehicle for us to share the Sigma Sports story with a new audience of passionate cyclists in the heart of Yorkshire and beyond.”

The official UCI Road World Championships Mito national kit by Santini will be available to purchase from the Sigma Sports website shortly, with a range of official Santini products also available from the retailer.
