JE James’ CycleFest, taking place later this month, will see demo rides, sportives, MTB orienteering, roller racing and even a night of cycling films.
Run by the Sheffield retailer, CycleFest takes place over April 25th and 26th based at the Norfolk Arms in Ringinglow on the fringes of Sheffield and the Peak District National Park.
Demo rides will be available with bikes from Orange, Giant, GT, Haibike, Whyte, Wilier, Trek, Specialized and Kona. CycleFest features a led MTB demo loop over eight miles and a 15mile road signed loop. The weekend also sees the JE James CycleFest Sportives, including a Friendly and a Challenger ride, which can be entered via the British Cycling site.
Saturday night has a feast of cycling films lined up with roller racing at The Norfolk Arms. For the evening JEJames Cycles has teamed up with Heason Events, which runs the annual Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (SHAFF), the ‘Ride for Eric Foundation’.
“Here at JEJames Cycles we are excitied about this screening and the partnerships we have built over the last year,” said Adam Simmonite, JEJames events and PR co-ordinator – and organiser of CycleFest. “This inspiring show reel includes some of the finest cycling films featuring the amazing scenery and trails around Sheffield and the Peak District. Take to the trails with the fantastic ‘North’ and ‘Forged’, then take to the road with the spectacular ‘Ghost Peleton’ and ‘Tour de France Peak District’.
“We have been running roller racing events in our stores for the last few months and its proved popular, it’s a great addition to an already action packed weekend. We reckon you’ll be so inspired to ride by the end of the film session that the JEJames Roller Racing Challenge will be a great chance to see if you top the leader board over 250m or 500m.”
Tickets for the CycleFest FilmFest are available through EventBrite at £7, and include film entry and entry to roller racing. A percentage of ticket sales will be donated to local charity, The Ride For Eric Foundation who organised last years ‘Ride for Eric’ sportive.
